Acupuncture - Warr Clinic - Wokingham Berks

One of the oldest medical systems practised for over 2000 years Acupuncture has found a firm place in Western medical circles. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine everyone has their own optimum state of health. It is said to be balanced in body, mind, and spirit, all important factors if life is to be enjoyed to the full. For this to happen, a smooth flow of blood, fluids, commands, thoughts and emotions are required . However the smooth running of the body can be disturbed in a number of ways;

Anxiety, stress, anger, poor nutrition, posture, weather, hereditary factors, pain, infections.

Acupuncture addresses energy weakness, fullness, or blockages to ensure a smooth running of bodily functions, thoughts, and emotions. The principle aim of acupuncture is to treat the whole person and recover the balance of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the individual.

Treatment

Acupuncture uses a variety of ways to stimulate the acu points and meridians. The Acupuncturists will use whichever method is appropriate for the problem and patient. Some of these are;

  • Moxabustoin, a warming herb used to strengthen the body.
  • Gua Sha, a good detox treatment, and great for pain relief this means to 'rub the sand'.
  • Cupping, a suction to relax deep muscles
  • Tui na, a massage developed to work in conjunction with acupuncture to stimulate the meridians. This uses a combination of manipulations to relax muscles, ease pain, and promote blood and Qi circulation.

Benefits include

  • Improved immune system
  • Effective pain relief
  • A feeling of being more centred
  • Calming of the mind
  • Rebalancing of the energy meridians
